What are cookies and what are they for

Cookies are text files that store certain information for a limited period of time. The moment you first access the relevant website, your browser automatically downloads these files and stores them on your device (phone, tablet, computer). A cookie contains at least two components, namely the name and value of the file. It usually also contains a date when it will be automatically deleted (this is set according to the planned lifetime of the file). There is a difference between session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are automatically deleted immediately after the respective browsing session ends. Persistent cookies remain stored on your computer for the entire lifetime of the relevant cookie and are only deleted at the end of the specified period.

Cookies are designed to make it easier for users to visit websites and make their visits more user-friendly. Cookies store your preferred settings and, if you return to a particular website repeatedly, allow the site to "remember" which products you last added to your cart, or ensure that the site automatically displays in your preferred settings or font size.

What types of cookies do we use

  • Technical (functional)
These cookies are necessary to show you our websites and to make them work as they should (e.g. to show you our content in the settings you prefer - for example, in a certain language or to make browsing easier for you in other ways)
  • Analytical
These cookies help us to analyse how our websites work in terms of visitor behaviour and to adapt and change the website accordingly
  • Marketing
These cookies allow us or third parties to adapt our service offerings after your visit, which may then be displayed to you outside of our websites

Why we may process cookies

We may work with technical (functional) cookies on the basis of legal regulations. Without them, we would not be able to provide you with our services.

Analytical cookies allow us to process the so-called legitimate interest. However, of course, we cannot force you to do so in any way and you can object to it (contact details are provided above). You can stop the processing of these cookies at any time by browsing the website in anonymous mode, or disable them in your browser settings.

We may process marketing cookies based on your consent. We infer your consent from your browser settings. You can stop the processing of these cookies at any time by browsing the website in anonymous mode, or disable them in your browser settings.

How to prevent the use of cookiess

The cookies that we collect for the purpose of measuring website traffic and creating statistics regarding traffic and visitor behavior on our website are assessed in the form of a collective whole, i.e. in a form that does not allow the identification of the website visitor as an individual.

Cookies necessary for the functionality of the website are always kept only for the time strictly necessary for its functioning. You can also adjust the permission for the use of cookies in your browser settings to better suit your needs. Most browsers allow you to accept or delete all cookies or allow the use of only certain types of cookies. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your device by selecting the "do not accept cookies" function in your browser settings.
